Confidence in the Lord -- The Heritage Hymn |

Heritage member Florence Haney and Minister of Music Rev. Ralph Manuel, inspired by Pastor Henry Green's series of sermons on confidence, worked together to produce Confidence in the Lord. Since few hymns have been written about the subject of confidence, Ralph decided that he and Florence would write their own. Using the sermon notes from Henry's sermon and filled with the spirit of the Lord, Florence went to work on the lyrics. She quickly turned the words over to Ralph, who put them to music. This beautiful hymn debuted at the morning service on Feb. 20, 2005.
CONFIDENCE IN THE LORD
We come to worship You, O Lord,
With confidence and trust.
We come to give You praise, O Lord,
We know Your ways are just.
You’ve been our hope, Lord, from our youth.
With confidence we trace
Our daily path to seek Your truth
And show the lost Your grace.
With confidence we heed Your call
To answer our world’s need,
And bring eternal hope to all.
We’ll follow where You lead.

We have confidence in You, O Lord,
Through endless ages still the same.
We have confidence in You, O Lord;
Your love and mercy we proclaim.
