The white rose on the communion table is in memory of Chet Lanham who passed away on April 20th.  He was the husband of Octa Lanham and a member of Heritage Baptist Church for 46 years.

A Vacation Bible School meeting for leaders will take place immediately following this morning's worship service in the library.

This week's Wednesday dinner will be potluck style.  You are asked to bring a couple of your favorite dishes to share.  Drinks will be provided.

Vacation Bible School is June 29-July 3 from 9 am - 12:30 pm.  Registration is now open to church members only and any children coming with them.  If your children are ready for a swamp stompin good time at Crocodile Dock, please pick up your registration forms on a table in the narthex or the church office now.  When registration opens to the public on May 4th, classes will fill fast and space is limited.

KIDWALK: Go the Extra distance for our kids Saturday, May 2nd, and walk for underprivileged children.  Enjoy a 5k walk starting at the Naval Academy stadium at 7:30 am, and winding through downtown Annapolis.  Or, just come out for the fun activities from 9-11am.  For more details see Lynn Keckler or the bulletin board by the lounge.

Men's Prayer Breakfast: This Saturday will be your last chance for a great breakfast and fellowship with the men of Heritage until September 5th after our summer of sun and fun! The Honorable Mike Busch will be our guest speaker and will share a Legislative update for Maryland.  Good food, good fellowship, good questions! We will begin eating at 8 am.

Next Sunday, May 3rd, is Senior Adult Day. Our own Rev. Charles Barnes will be the guest preacher.

Come and Make the Heritage Building Sparkle!  Heritage will be having a facility care day on Saturday, May 9th, beginning at 9 am, to help clean and maintain the interior and exterior of the building.  All you need to bring is your elbow grease!

Ida Russell reports that the American Red Cross blood drive was a success.  Twenty-six pints were collected.  Thank you to all who gave.  The volunteer workers were Dorothy Disney, Mary Ann Fulford and Barbara Munz.  October 19 will be the next visit of the bloodmobile.

Attention Senior Adults!  Come join us for a delicious lunch at Friendly Farm Restaurant in Upperco, Maryland, on Tuesday, May 19th.  We will leave at 10:45 from the church parking lot.  Dining is family style with choices of individual entrees.  After dining you will want to check out the assortment of delicious baked goods for sale in the lobby or browse the gift shop and country store.  A copy of the menu and sign up sheet is posted on the Senior Adult bulletin board by the chapel.

 OUR MISSION

We believe Heritage Baptist Church exists to be a beacon reflecting God's unconditional love in Annapolis and surrounding communities.  Using the Bible as our guide, our purpose is to share the Gospel message so that others may become followers of Jesus Christ and to provide an environment that facilitates the strengthening of believers.  Each member, like every disciple of Christ, is commissioned to be faithful in the worship of God, Christian ministry, and fellowship with believers.  We will continually look to God for power and direction to chart our course.
