The red rose on the communion table is in glad announcement of the birth of Alice Rose, daughter born to Matthew and Jolene Lanham on June 11, 2009.  The happy great grandmother is Octa Lanham.

The flowers on the altar and boutonnieres for the men of Heritage are given by Tammy Golihew in honor of her Father, Everett, and all Fathers present on this Father's Day.

We are happy to welcome the Youth Choir and Handbells from Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church of Charlotte, North Carolina, as they participate in leading us in worship this morning.  Their director is David Bailes.

Faith Quest will not meet today.

The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be here tomorrow, from 1-7pm.  If you would be willing to give a pint of life-saving blood or help with this event please talk with Ida Russell.

Next Sunday, June 28th, our youth will have a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser immediately following the morning worship service. Everyone is invited and all proceeds from this event will go to future youth events occurring the rest of this year.

Vacation Bible School will take place June 29 through July 3, from 9 am-12:30 pm.  This year we will explore Crocodile Dock, where fearless kids shine God's light. Preschool through second grade classes are full but there is still room for grades 3-5. Registration forms are available in the church office.

The Missions Offering during the month of June will be placed in the Helping Fund.  Your gift will make it possible for our church to continue to help those most in need, both in our community and within our congregation.

Our Independence Day Celebration will take place on Sunday, July 5th, immediately following the morning worship service.  Come dressed for a picnic as we study the Bible, worship and celebrate the birth of our nation with pony rides, fun, food and activities.  The picnic will take place on the church grounds.  The cost is $5.00 for youth and adults, $1.00 for children, and a maximum of $14.00 per family.  Meat, drinks and eating utensils will be provided.  You are asked to bring a couple of your favorite foods to share (vegetable, salad, dessert), and your lawn chairs or blankets.

Copies of the Treasurer's Report for May are available on a table in the narthex.

Food Pantry Distribution: Tuesday, June 23 - Laura Barnes and Thursday, June 25 - Mel Howard.
