Welcome to the pulpit this morning Rev. Mark Beck, L.P.C.  Born and raised in northern Virginia, Mark received a B.A. from George Mason University and an M-Div. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Lynchburg College.  Ordained in 1983, he has served churches in North Carolina and Virginia.  Mark currently works as a mental health counselor Lynchburg General Hospital and has a private counseling practice.  He is Jennifer Pope’s dad, but his real claims to fame are Patrick and Cameron.

 

Financial Statements for the first six months of 2009 have been mailed.  They are sent to everyone for whom we have a record of contribution.  If there is an error in yours, or you did not get one, and should, please call Edie Stucker, our Financial Secretary.  Her office hours are Tuesdays and Wednesdays 8 am until 4 pm.

 

Copies of the Treasurer’s Report for June are available on a table in the narthex.

 

Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre - Come see the musical “Quilters” this Thursday evening.  Please sign up on the bulletin board by the lounge.  Tickets are reserved and the cost is adults, $18.00.  For seniors, students, and groups of 20 or more it is $15.00.  Show time is 8:30, so please be present at 8 o’clock.  Checks should be made payable to ASGT and given to Tom Antonielli.

 

Attention Senior Adults!  We will be going to Harris’ Crab House on Tuesday, August 4.  The church bus and van will leave the parking lot at 10:30 am.  For crab lovers, the cost of the “All-you-can-eat feast,” including steamed crabs, steamed shrimp, bar-be-cue chicken, corn-on-the cob, cole slaw, potato salad, corn muffins, soda, coffee and tea, is $36.00.  A sign up sheet is on the bulletin board by the church lounge.  If you will be eating the “the all-you-can eat” crab feast, your money is due by August 2.  If paying by check, please make it payable to Heritage Baptist Church.  If you will be ordering from the menu, you pay at the restaurant.

Speaking of a Crab Feast,  the 64th annual Annapolis Rotary Crab Feast will be on August 7 from 5 to 8 pm.  Our pastor, Rev. Henry Green, is chair of the crab feast this year.  Come join with 3,000 people from Annapolis and around the country, eat some crabs, and do something  great for Annapolis.  All the money raised goes to help non-profit groups in Annapolis.  Since the beginning of this event, more than $1 Million has been given back to the community.  Tickets are available in the church office or on-line at www.annapolisrotaryclub.com. 

 

The B and B Ladies of Heritage Baptist Church would like to invite all ladies of the church (age 18 and older) to an “Afternoon Tea” on Saturday, August 8, from 2-4 pm.  Come enjoy fellowship with other Christian women while sampling different varieties of tea and teacakes.  There will be a guest speaker.  Bring your favorite teacup and saucer, and wear your favorite hat and gloves for this special occasion.  Bring a friend!  Please RSVP to Sally Morehead, 410-263-6680, by July 26.  If you did not receive an invitation, please let me know, Connie Golihew, 410-263-8047.
