Our Offering for Global Missions will continue through this month.  Heritage's goal is $8,000.00; $5,171.17 has been given.  Envelopes may be found in the pew racks.

Special Business Meeting called for Sunday, January 31, 2010 immediately following the morning worship service. The Music Committee recommends that the church authorize a campaign for the purchase of new hymnals for our sanctuary.  The hymnal to be purchased is Celebrating Grace: Hymnal for Baptist Worship, due to be launched on March 7, 2010.  Individuals will have the opportunity of purchasing one or more of these hymnals for our church in honor/memory of loved ones.  This campaign will begin February 1, 2010.  The cost of a hymnal is $15.00 and our goal is 300 by Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010.  Ralph Manuel is a member of the Celebrating Grace Hymnal Committee and two of his hymn tunes are included in this hymnal.  Our current hymnals were purchased in 1993 and we will continue to use them in our chapel.

Wednesday's dinner: the cooks will  be serving  spaghetti, salad, bread and a special dessert lovingly prepared by Everett and Connie Golihew.

Men's Prayer Breakfast, Saturday February 6th at 8:00 a.m. Old fashion breakfast and old fashion spiritual devotion.  Dr. Charles Barnes will be our speaker and you will be energized and filled with enthusiasm for the Lord's work.  Please sign up on the sheet near the office.

Soup-er Bowl Sunday to Benefit Shelter. Heritage will be hosting a Soup-er Bowl fundraiser for the Annapolis Light House Shelter on Sunday, February 7th, immediately following the morning worship service in the fellowship hall.  Chef Zach Pope will prepare a selection of soups, salad and dessert.  Admission is free, but donations will be requested to benefit the Shelter.

The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at Heritage Baptist Church on Monday, February 8th, from 1-7 pm. in the Fellowship Hall. If you would be willing to give a pint of life saving blood or help with this event,  please talk with Ida Russell.

Financial Reports: The Treasurer's Report for December 2009 and a balance sheet for the year ending 2009 are available on a table in the narthex.

Individual Records of Contribution for the year 2009 were mailed last week. Every person supporting the work of the Lord through Heritage Baptist Church should receive one of these forms showing all financial contributions.  If you ought to receive one and did not, or if you find a error, please contact Edie Stucker.

Calling all Knitters  and "Want to be" Knitters! The Knit Chicks have committed themselves to knitting scarves for the children in the Backpack Buddies program for Christmas 2010.  If you knit or crochet and could help with this mission project, please talk with Edie Stucker for further information.  If you would like to learn a simple knit stitch and help with this project, join the Knit Chicks on Thursday afternoons at 1:00 p.m.  Most of your knitting can be done at home so you would not have to commit to attend each week. Knitters will not meet this week.

OUR MISSION

We believe Heritage Baptist Church exists to be a beacon reflecting God's unconditional love in Annapolis and surrounding communities.  Using the Bible as our guide, our purpose is to share the Gospel message so that others may become followers of Jesus Christ and to provide an environment that facilitates the strengthening of believers.  Each member, like every disciple of Christ, is commissioned to be faithful in the worship of God, Christian ministry, and fellowship with believers.  We will continually look to God for power and direction to chart our course.
