You are invited to a Weekend of Renewal with Dr. Guy Sayles, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Asheville, North Carolina, on Saturday, October 23 and Sunday, October 24.  Please join us on Saturday morning beginning with a Continental Breakfast at 8:30 followed by Dr. Sayles as he conducts a session where we will hear the story of FBC Asheville and hear some of the processes they went through as a church to invigorate the life of that church.  Sunday morning he will speak to a joint adult Sunday School session at 9:15 in the chapel and in the morning worship service.  Sunday evening he will conduct a final session at 5 o’clock.

It is almost time for our Fall Fun Fest!  It will take place on Saturday, October 30th, from 10 am – 12 noon.  Children of all ages will enjoy “trunk or treating,” Magician Wes Holly, the pumpkin patch, games, prizes, hay rides, moon bounce, face painting, picture taking, cotton candy, popcorn, hotdogs, cookies, apple cider and more. Your help is needed in all areas!  To volunteer to help with this important ministry see the sign up sheet on the bulletin board across from the church office.                  Cookies are also needed for our Fall Fun Fest. If you can help with this please bring them to the church office by Wednesday, October 27th, marked accordingly.

Backpack Buddies is now serving 34 children in two elementary schools, Georgetown East and Mills Parole!  We include peanut butter with a sleeve of crackers every other week for the children.  However, presently, we are unable to get peanut butter from the Anne Arundel County Food Bank as we have done in the past.  We could use donations of the 18 ounce jars of peanut better, smooth or crunchy.  We could also use donations of the snack size pudding cups.  If you donate these items, please place them in the container marked “Backpack Buddies” in the hall outside the church office.  The Backpack Buddies Team and the children thank you.

Copies of the Treasurer’s Report for September are available on a table in the narthex.
