Indoors or outdoors, candy from the hidden egg is just as sweet! Over 200 folks came in from the rain for Heritage Baptist's annual Children's Easter Celebration.
HBC's Fellowship Hall was decked out with festive decorations and brightly colored eggs to welcome parents and children from the steady drizzle outside. Cookies and lemonade were served while young ones decorated Easter bags and played bean bag toss.
Parents lined up to have children's photos made with the Easter Bunny, in front of a newly painted Easter scene by HBC member and artist Brandi Eckert.
The face painting table was a favorite again this year with children eager to have bunnies, eggs and other Easter-themed pictures painted on their cheeks.
Hopeful sweet tooths tried to guess how many jelly beans and M&Ms were in two super-sized jars. Congratulations to winners Robert and Yvette!
HBC was thrilled to welcome back the famous Welker bunnies. These furry friends have been our featured Easter guests for several years. Thanks to Ellen, Lou and Patricia Welker for sharing these special pets.
But, the highlight of the morning was the indoor egg hunt. Egg hunters were divided by age groups to search high and low in classrooms and the chapel for 2000 candy-filled eggs. It was a wonderful event, made possible by outstanding work from Heritage staff and dedicated volunteers.
