We have a variety of programs for newborns through "'tweens" at Heritage Baptist Church.Here's a sampling of our children's programs:
Nursery – Newborns to age 2 are cared for by our experienced Nursery Coordinator Amy Henry and a corps of caring volunteers. Our nursery is bright and welcoming with all the baby equipment needed for infants along with toys and developmental activitiies to help toddlers play and learn. The Nursery is open every Sunday and Wednesday during church activities.
Preschool Sunday School classes- "Jesus' Kids" (Sundays from 9:15-10:15 AM) Children ages 2-5 need stability and repetition to help them learn. Our dedicated teachers have years of experience in working with this age group. Each Sunday, preschoolers learn of God through stories, crafts and play. Snack is offered.
BibleVenture Sunday School - (Sundays from 9:15 - 10:15 AM) Children in Kindergarten to fifth grade explore the foundational stories in the Bible.
Children's Choirs & Handbells - Church music staff and volunteers work with students from kindergarten through 5th grade during the Sunday School hour to share the joy of music. Performances are scheduled at varying times throughout the year. (September-May)
After 5th Grade- Heritage Kids join the HBC Youth Cru!
Seasonal Activities:
Vacation Bible School-- open to children age 4 through 5th grade. With a new theme each year, this week-long camp is an evolving adventure! Biblical concepts are explored through theme, activities, art and music. VBS is a free activity and is open to the public, regardless of church membership. VBS is usually scheduled in June or July of each year.
Independence Day Picnic - July - A family fun activity with food, games and fellowship held after church services on the church grounds.
Fall Fun Fest- Every October - Games, prizes, food, fellowship and CANDY: does it get any better? HBC's annual Fall Fun Fest features games, prizes, hayrides and a moon bounce. There is no admission charge. Refreshments are free and you can have a free photo made of your children (costumes optional).
Children's Easter Celebration- HBC's Easter celebration for kids includes an Easter video, crafts and photos along with the perennially popular Egg Hunt. Over a thousand candy-stuffed eggs are hidden on the church grounds for toddlers through 5th grade to find. (Don't worry mom, the hunters are divided by age groups!) Admission and all activities are free.
Nativity - Every December for over 20 years, HBC has presented an outdoor presentation of the birth of Christ on the church grounds. In recent years this has been either a living nativity or drive-through nativity. Both are free to the public and complimentary refreshments are served.
