On Wednesday, June 17, the High School Choir and College Chorale from Derbyshire Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia, will present a concert at our church, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

On Sunday, June 21, the Youth Choir and Handbells from Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, will present a concert at our church during the morning service.

Last but not least-our Summer Choir begins its rehearsals on Wednesday, June 10.  This is an informal choir for anyone who likes to sing; you don't have to be part of our regular church choir.  Rehearsal time is from 6:45-8:00 p.m.  Come join in the fun!

Eva Lloyd would no doubt consider herself nothing special.  She was born and raised in Missouri; she has taught English in various Missouri elementary and high schools and also at the college level; she and her husband Clarence make their home in Maryville, Missouri, where they are active members of the First Baptist Church in that city.

Yet she also writes hymns.  In 1963 she wrote the words to "Come, All Christians, Be Committed," which she later submitted to a hymn competition, where it won first prize.  The hymn is a call to us as Christians to use every part of our beings-time, talents, tithes, offerings, work-in the service and proclamation of our Lord.

Come, all Christians, be committed to the service of the Lord.

Make your lives for Him more fitted, tune your hearts with one accord.

Come into His courts with gladness, each His sacred vows renew,

Turn away from sin and sadness, be transformed with life anew.

 Of your time and talents give Him, they are gifts from God above,

To be used by Christians freely to proclaim His wondrous love.

Come again to serve the Savior, tithes and offerings with you bring.

In your work, with Him find favor, and with joy His praises sing.
