Over 250 people turned for great food and a great cause at the 5^th Annual SOUPer Bowl Lunch for the Light House Shelter at Heritage Baptist Church in Annapolis.  This donation-only event, held in the church’s fellowship hall, raised $2700 in two hours.  See photos by Charles Phillips in our Picture Gallery and read on for more details...

Annapolis City Council members Shelia Finlayson, Classie Hoyle and Fred Paone worked the soup line, ladling chili, chicken noodle and baked potato soups prepared by Chef Zachary Pope of Roundz Catering.  Members of Heritage’s Youth Group and over a dozen other supporters also volunteered in the kitchen and dining room.

“We are overwhelmed by the amazing community support,” said Rev. Henry Green.  “This is the most money we’ve raised at this event since we began in 2007.”

 Heritage Baptist is a member of the Annapolis Area Ministries which supports the Light House Shelter.
