 Tidings of Comfort & Joy

Christmas day has come and gone, leaving echoes of laughter and glad reverberations in its wake. This is the first yuletide season that my family and I have celebrated here in Annapolis. Verily, it has been one to remember.
Left to myself at a late hour, I contemplate the days that have past amid the scraps of wrapping paper and crumbs of sugarplums. The twinkles of the lights are but simple glimmerings compared to the radiance I have felt in this holy season.
Graciously do I cherish the wonderful gifts I have received from beloved ones. A dear Brother gave me a book I have long desired to own and a Sister sent some delicious homemade Apple Butter (my favorite preserve)...but of all the dulcet joys and delights my family has savored thus far, the fellowship and communion we have been a part of with Heritage Baptist Church has been a blessing far beyond our asking.
The city of Annapolis is a wonderful place to live. It is full of interesting people, with no shortage of things to see and do, and a great place to raise family, but the dear Brethren I have come to know since moving here have made this transition wonder-filled.
Arriving here only in the latter remnant of Summer, we have been blessed abundantly by the sweet prayers and affectionate camaraderie of this congregation. We have also been pleased to be able to offer some trifling portion of assistance in various tasks and endeavors of the church.
Though, admittedly, we are still yet to reach a level of stability here that I would be satisfied with, we thank the LORD that He has brought us to such a loving and caring flock. In whom we can share our struggles and our rejoicing.
We trust that the LORD is with us, come what may, and it is a privilege to be among His people at Heritage Baptist Church.
