The white rose on the communion table is in memory of Howard Palmer, who passed away on April 13th. He was the son of Marilyn and Thad Jackson.
Today the Men's Bake-Off will take place following the morning worship service. The desserts will be judged for looks, creativity and taste. First, second and third prizes will be awarded. Everyone is invited to step across to the fellowship hall to sample the desserts.
The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be here tomorrow from 1-7 pm. If you would be willing to give a pint blood, please see Ida Russell today.
Boys and girls 8-14 interested in forming a Lego robotics team may do so by meeting in the lounge at 4:00 pm on Wednesdays. We finish before the evening meal.
The Mission Committee will meet this Wednesday at 6:00 pm.
The Heritage Youth Group will prepare and deliver lunch to the Clay Street work site on Saturday, April 26th.
The Virginia Baptist Male Chorale has launched a new CD entitled "Moments on Our Journey," featuring twelve inspiring songs. The Chorale is made up of ministers of music from around the state of Virginia-plus one from Maryland (our own Ralph Manuel). Copies of this CD are available for purchase in the church office.
Milestone Build-Women's Work Day - May 3rd -8 am-4 pm. The women of Heritage will work on the 100th Habitat House at 204 Clay Street on Saturday, May 3rd. You don't need to swing a hammer to participate...training is provided. (OSHA stipulations require participants to be age 16 or older). A sign up sheet is posted on the bulletin board by the church lounge.
Church Sponsored Softball League: Our church has an opportunity to participate in a fun summer softball league at the Annapolis Middle School during the months of June and July. The league is co-ed and you must be 14 years of age or older to play. Game time is 6:30 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. We have shirts and hats, but you need your glove. Please use the sign up sheet on the bulletin board across from the office if you are interested in playing or see Everett.
Former Pastor Phil Bush will be receiving his Doctorate Degree from Virginia Theological Seminary. If you would like to congratulate him, please stop by the church office today and sign the card we have for him. Ed Copeland will pick the card up tomorrow to take to him.
Full size paper grocery bags are needed on a regular basis for our food distribution. About 100 bags a month are needed. Thank you for your help.
