One of the white roses on the communion table is in memory of Mickie Cook who passed away on April 19; she was the wife of Ray Cook.  The other white rose is in memory of Gaynelle Cartwright who passed away on April 20; she was the mother of Shelton Cartwright.  The red rose is in glad announcement of the birth of Clara Elizabeth, daughter born to Ryan and Christina Jackson on December 10, 2007.  The happy great-grandparents are Thad and Marilyn Jackson.

Don't forget the Maryland Avenue Spring Fling today from 10am-5pm.  Enjoy an afternoon for the whole family; live music, outdoor seating, premier artist vendors and wonderful food!  All proceeds benefit Arundel Habitat for Humanity.  This is a fun and easy way to help support one of our local missions.

The Leadership Council will meet tomorrow evening at 7 o'clock.

This week's dinner, because it is a fifth Wednesday, will be potluck style.  You are asked to bring a couple of your favorite dishes (meat, vegetables, salads and desserts) to share.  Drinks will be provided.

If you are going on the cruise to the Caribbean, May 1st-10, you are asked to meet in the church parking lot this Thursday by 11:15 am.  The bus and van will leave promptly at 11:30 for the Baltimore port of departure.

The Trustees will meet this Thursday at 7 pm.

Registration forms for the Hike for Humanity are due May 1.  Forms are available in the narthex.  If you can't hike on May 17, you can still sponsor walkers from our church.  See Lynn Keckler after the service today for more information, or call her at 410-268-8163.

Next Sunday, May 4th, come hear "NewSong," a middle-school choir from First Baptist Church of Richmond.  They will be providing the music for the morning service.

The Men's Prayer Breakfast will take place on Saturday, May 10, at 8 o'clock.  The guest speaker will be Brother Lynn of the Mt. Hope Prison Ministry.  A sign up sheet is posted on the bulletin board by the church office.

Be sure to sign up today to participate in the Church Sponsored Softball League.  The games will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30 pm during the months of June and July at the Annapolis Middle School.  The league is co-ed and you must be 14 years of age or older to play.  A sign up sheet is on the bulletin board across from the church office.

A mission trip to Barbour County, West Virginia, is planned for August 3-7, 2008.  This trip is a family oriented, intergenerational group from eight churches working on construction, gardening and yard work, children's camp, and meal preparation.  If you are interested, please see Mary Ann Fulford, or call the church office.  Registration and a $15 deposit need to be completed by May 15.

The Blood Donor Committee thanks all who donated blood to the American Red Cross last Monday; 45 pints were collected.  Also, thanks to all who worked and contributed goodies.  The next blood drive will be in October.

OUR MISSION

We believe Heritage Baptist Church exists to be a beacon reflecting God's unconditional love in Annapolis and surrounding communities.  Using the Bible as our guide, our purpose is to share the Gospel message so that others may become followers of Jesus Christ and to provide an environment that facilitates the strengthening of believers.  Each member, like every disciple of Christ, is commissioned to be faithful in the worship of God, Christian ministry, and fellowship with believers.  We will continually look to God for power and direction to chart our course.
