Does your garbage give you away? What you throw away can put you at risk for identity theft. HBC will host "Trash Intelligence"- a FREE community service event sponsored by the Annapolis Police Department on Thursday, September 18, from 7-8 PM. Read on for details...
Countless tons of garbage are disposed of each day. Have you ever thought about what your garbage is saying about you? What types of information can the bad guys acquire just by looking through your trashcan or dumpster? Tons upon tons of waste paper are being shipped overseas on a daily basis for recycling. Do you want someone, who could be a potential bad guy, on the other side of the world learning about your interests or targeting you for ID theft?
This discussion/demonstration will focus on providing you awareness of exactly the type of information is in your trash that the bad guys can and will use against you. We will demonstrate how a bad guy could go through your trash and how they gather information about you, for their use.
You won't want to miss this highly informative, as well as very entertaining, session presented by Mr. Billy Davis, the Operations Security Program Manager for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) which is a Joint Department of Defense Agency.
