Psalm 100, a "Thankful" treel and Turkey dinner...read more about HBC's annual Thanksgiving celebration this Sunday, November 22...
November is Stewardship Month at Heritage. In that light, we celebrate Thanksgiving with joy in the bounty of blessings God has provided his servants. Sunday, November 22nd, during the 10:30 AM worship service, Rev. Green will speak on "Our Gift of Thanksgiving," referring to Psalm 100, a classic expression of thankfulness.
Also, this year we will have a "thankful tree." Sunday morning, brightly colored paper leaves will be available in Sunday School and in the narthex. You are invited to write what you are thankful for on these leaves, which will be hung in the fellowship hall after the morning service. They will be a reminder of our many blessings and a backdrop for our Thanksgiving dinner that evening.
That evening, Heritage invites you to join in a Thanksgiving Family and Friends Dinner at 6 PM in the church fellowship hall. Chef Zachary Pope will prepare the turkey and ham with all of the trimmings. You are asked to bring a couple of your favorite foods to share (vegetable, salad, dessert). If you have never participated in our Thanksgiving dinner before, see photos of out 2008 Friends and Family Dinner in our picture gallery.
Remember, the church office will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 26-27.
"Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name." -- Psalm 100:4
