Sunday School Appreciation Day
By Florence Haney
When we look around us today
We see friends who've led day after day.
Faith Quest Workers, Sunday School Teachers,
Van Drivers and Extended Care Leaders.
"Where would we be?" Each of us should ask,
Without those who, to God's Heavenly task,
Have devoted their lives year after year,
And presented His message in words so clear.
Tending the toddlers and teen agers, too,
Each Child of God brings a challenge that's new.
Child of God from two months to ninety-two years,
You share this boy's bright smiles and that girl's sad tears.
You study, you rejoice and you pray.
You say, "God is with you all the way."
You sing songs. Tell a Bible story
Show our Jesus in all His glory.
You encourage, you pat someone's shoulder.
You give them God's love, from younger to older.
You put on God's armor. You run the great race.
His Holy Word of Truth is your solid base.
We praise God for the witness you give.
And thank Him for the way that you live.
If I were a cheerleader, I'd lead in a cheer,
"Praise You, God! Praise You, God!
For Your leaders serving here."
